What is IGF-1 DES?

IGF-1 DES, also written as des(1-3)IGF-I or des-(1-3)-IGF-I, is a truncated analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1. The name describes the absence of the first three amino acids at the N-terminus: glycine, proline and glutamic acid.
