What is KPV?

KPV is a simple three–amino acid peptide (Lys–Pro–Val) derived from the C-terminal end of alpha-MSH. It’s studied for calming inflammation and supporting barrier integrity in skin and gut models, with research exploring effects on NF-κB signalling, pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-6, TNF-α), possible melanocortin-receptor involvement (notably MC1R), and antimicrobial activity.
